Fanny and Jessy reveal the otherworldliness of natural phenomenon in Uscopia. A recent fascination with nature and contemporary psychedelia inspire this collection which evolves from A/W12 Sea Foam In Your Eyes, appropriating the accidental fashion of sport and bringing to it pure and purposeful design with an edge. More organic shapes, colours and textures are introduced into this context in Uscopia, and individual pieces take their names from minerals: azurite, minette, and loess. Fanny and Jessy coined the term Uscopia for the collection, illustrating a combination of the optimism & idealism of Sir Thomas More’s fictional island in Utopia with the activity of manually manipulating earth scopes. Print and palette seamlessly bind the collection and cause rupture between the precise & the unpredictable. The unusual Icelandic terrain during Aurora is magnified and mirrored beyond recognition in Leif Podhajsky’s original Halcyconic digital print, and in contrast, reverse tie bleaching print processes echo tidal and tectonic rhythms. All in muted waves of colour: purple quartz, pale granite grey and sandstone colliding with chalk white and acid green. Textures recall the diversity of the Earth’s surface: layers of micro suede, waxed cotton, and soft napper leather. Silhouettes are on the feminine side of androgyny - elongated T’s and shirt dresses cocoon the body with clean lines, infusing menswear tailoring with an inherent elegance. Uscopia comes at a time of great change for Fanny & Jessy, celebrating the successful launch of their online shop and symbolising a break away from the restrictions of seasonal separation. Uscopia is Spring Summer inspired but is intentionally seasonless, allowing designer and wearer alike flexibility and freedom season to season. Welcome to Uscopia.

Fanny and Jessy is a pioneering high end womenswear label, launched in London in 2009. Creating eye-catching, extroverted pieces, the Fanny and Jessy look is both hotly sexed-up and cooly androgynous - fuelled with forward thinking design and effortless style.
Fanny and Jessy are Fanny Usher and Jessy Jobst, who met whilst studying at London College of Fashion and have continued to work together since graduating in 2009. With their skills and knowledge acquired through their experiences of working with designers such as PPQ and Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Fanny and Jessy the label was born.
The label unites Fanny and Jessy’s rural Somerset upbringings with the experimental nature of London’s youth culture. An attention to process and taking established ideas out of context is key to the Fanny and Jessy methodology: traditional craftsmanship is rediscovered through sourcing specialist fabrics locally and fusing them with contemporary design to create a timeless aesthetic.
They debuted at London Fashion Week with their SS12 Collection The Kings at the Blow Presents Off-Schedule Catwalk Show. Since then, Fanny and Jessy have been featured in a wide range of publications, including British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Dazed Japan, WAD, Time Out and Grazia and their pieces have been worn by performers Lady Gaga, Jessie J and M.I.A.
Fanny and Jessy is stocked internationally and they continue to design with their unique vision for fashion, intentionally borrowing and redesigning menswear for women, still maintaining the ease and allure of throwing on a boyfriend’s shirt. Rules are broken and stereotypes are teased,
always upholding that fashion is a luxury that should also be playful.
