Born in Sweden, Fannie Schiavoni moved to London when she was 18 to study tailoring. Having done a number of internships alongside her studies for designers such as Hussein Chalayan and Giles Deacon, she then launched her first collection before graduating from the London College of Fashion in spring 2009. Browns Focus bought the collection and in the same year she received the prestigious New Gen award from the British Fashion Council. Her background in tailoring and use of traditional methods of handicraft has helped develop a unique approach to the design of her chain metal accessories. She works with muted colours to keep the focus on the shape and design of her handmade pieces. She’s drawn to androgyny, strong clean lines and geometric forms.The versatility of the her signature chain harnesses can be layered and worn in different ways, which allows multiple looks from a single item. The raw and distinctive shape of the chains can make any outfit stand out. Now after being awarded New Gen for three consecutive seasons her collections are stocked globally. In the last year many artists have embrace her work too, such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Skin. She has also recently been collaborating with other designers and major brands including Craig Lawrence, Alexandre Vauthier, Swarovski and Diesel.
