A clap of thunder surprises us in the middle of the plain and the herds scatter without rhyme or reason and the birds fly in all directions. The ruins of different civilizations coexist inertly over time at the same location. The trembling earth gives us a definitive sign: the earth moves. The new Pangaea has arrived, the continents have joined, past recollections testify to the fact that Pangaea existed once before... We now find ourselves in a new world in which the land mass is one. The lifecycle has returned to its origins. Animals find themselves in landscapes they have never seen before and coexist alongside species they do not know. The scarce signs of humanity are only evident in the remains of ancient temples covered today in ivy. Pangaea lends its name to this collection, inspired by animal eclecticism and references to ancient civilizations. The colour is lively, emerging from the image of a green and fertile landscape, full of fruits and exotic plants. Red, orange, pistachio and turquoise, sky blue and mauve contrast with grey, sandy and classic navy blue shades, creating a dynamic visual effect. The prints are integrated within the colour range, taking over the leading role throughout the collection, packed with animal designs combined with strips, classic edging and geometric motifs. Birds, fish, giraffes... The materials also evoke a natural dimension. Airy gauze and crêpe in bright colours; glace lamb and suede embossed with appliqués and beads; cotton and linen. All of them feature handmade finishes, embroidery, openwork and sewn pieces in the traditional manner. The lines are pure, based on enveloping silhouettes; airy and oversized items combine with other more structured creations, highlighting the value of small details and the natural appeal of the figure, in the case of both men and women. Shorts and high-waist Bermudas, long leather skirts, skirt-trousers, printed blouses and trousers, tunics... Pangaea immerses us in a fantasy world in which exoticism and eclectic appeal constitute the bedrock of the collection.

El Colmillo de Morsa is based in Barcelona, Spain. She studied at ESDI and graduated in 2009. Her collections are produced in Spain.

El Colmillo de Morsa is the brainchild Catalan designers Jordi Espino and Elisabeth Vallecillo based in Barcelona, both whom graduated in fashion design by ESDI school, associated with University Ramon Llull. After graduating they decided to create their own brand. The values of the brand reside in the attention to detail and rescuing the handcraft beginnings, a union between tradition and modernity. They find their inspiration in primary elements, organic elements and creative nature, and they take the environment and the good as a way to make  nordic design. The raw material is characterized by natural fabrics that transmits warmth and personal sensibility. The brand name El Colmillo de Morsa (meaning 'walrus tusk') contains their first premise: beautiful things have infinite forms, so many as people that look at them.
