NJAL for Global Fashion Awards
...proud to annouce our nomination for Breakthrough Brand at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards
Held at the St. Martins Lane Hotel, last night’s event was an exciting chance to meet and converse with other finalists, such as NJAL's Úna Burke, who has been nominated for the Breakthrough Designer Award. The attendees were an exciting melange of industry professionals who treated themselves to makeovers, manicures and deliciously fruity cocktails. In such a warm and sunny environment, it was easy to forget the rain outside.
The anticipation mellowed once the shortlist was made available and beaming smiles were not scarce. Nominees included Harrods for Outstanding Customer Experience, Miu Miu for Outstanding New Store, Net-A-Porter for Best E-tailer, and Alexander Wang and Rick Owens for Most Influencial Designer, Footwear/Accessories.
Other finalists included Marc Jacobs, Prada and Céline for Most Influential Designer, Womenswear, and Givenchy and Tom Ford for Menswear; we are thrilled to be up against these heeded brands. We at NJAL are in high hopes of winning the coveted award. Our unique brand ethos and enthusiasm have certainly paid off and we hope to further the support and awareness of young talent.
NOT JUST A LABEL has been at the forefront of fashion, pushing boundaries, and reinventing opportunity for emerging designers. Since the successful re-launch of the website in May 2011, NJAL has made an even stronger impact. Our ambition is to steer young designers, still wet behind the ears, towards success, offering help wherever we can. But this could not be possible without the welcomed support we have received. We are honoured that WGSN, a highly regarded resource for the fashion industry has nominated us for this award.
