Myrza de Muynck

…finding inspiration in the Dutch rave subculture, designer Myrza de Muynck is quickly making a name for herself with an individual patchwork style and a flair for turning something humble into the extraordinary.

After completing her Masters at Central St. Martins College in 2011, this, now London based label, has garnered attention for her highly detailed approach. Chosen as Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s ‘One to Watch’ for A/W 12/13, she has drawn on her love for handmade everything and a fascination for ‘Gabbers’ – a Dutch based sub culture with a love of hard-core techno and a weakness for sportswear. This group uniformity has helped shape her design by working within simple silhouettes, but with a touch of couture. Hand embroidery, painted prints and detailed hand finishing can be seen throughout her collection, and are part and parcel to her signature. Pale pastels help to offset the tomboyish flair to create ultra feminine and delicate pieces.
