...design the t-shirt every Londoner will wear to celebrating the city we live in

NOT JUST A LABEL in cooperation with LONDON FOR LONDON is offering you an unique opportunity: design a T-Shirt for the largest fundraising event ever to hit London and have the whole city wearing your shirt. The task is simple, design a T-Shirt and send us your application by Sunday 16th August. The lucky winner will have their organically produced T-Shirt sold among the hippest stores in London, their name on every shirt and leading newspapers and magazines keen to introduce them to an audience of 8 million. “Celebrate London,” that’s what we will be doing on Saturday 3rd October and that’s our brief to you - simple.

BACKGROUND:
LONDON FOR LONDON will be will be taking place on the 3rd October 2009 and will be the largest fundraising event ever to hit the capital!

Don’t think this is clear. I think it should be - LONDON FOR LONDON is uniting every night club, bar and pub on October 3rd so that anyone who goes out that night and walks through their doors is asked to pay £1 towards London For London. All the funds raised, will be used to support three organisations whose work addresses violence amongst young people. (Please see below). No special venue, no special effort, no guilty conscience. London For London is all about celebrating the city we live in and love and hopes to mobilise 1 million donors by asking people to do what they do anyway, enjoy our great city’s nightlife!

The number of venues supporting the charity is forever growing, from major brands including Novus Leisure venues and the O’Neill’s pub chain, to clubs / busy bars including Cargo, Ministry of Sound, Match bars as well as some of London’s hottest style bars like Maddox, Boujis and Whisky Mist.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
2009 is all about raising awareness of violence amongst young people in the capital and every penny of every pound raised will go towards 3 organisations working to combat it:

KIDS COMPANY
A charity that provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people.

VOLUNTEER POLICE CADETS
A new initiative organised through the Metropolitan Police which supports youths aged 14-20yrs, including those that maybe subject to social exclusion.

HELP A LONDON CHILD
95.8 Capital Radio FM’s charity which funds a variety of projects supporting children and young people experiencing abuse, poverty, homelessness, disability and illness.

DELIVERABLES:
We are keeping the brief nice and simple, the theme is ‘Celebrate London’. LONDON FOR LONDON is all about celebrating our great city. It aims to unite people with one simple aim: go out, donate £1 and as a result collectively contribute to supporting positive change within the city. You can design, draw or write whatever you like, but you must remain inside the colour palette of our logo (see LFL logo aside) but other than that you have a blank canvas to do what you like. This is a great opportunity for you to go away and design something special, unique and enduring.

We want you to design a t-shirt that will help make our 2009 campaign the one that is always remembered! The winning entry will gain brilliant publicity and so we need a design to do it justice. The winner will be selected by a well-known fashonista with the winning design to be promoted in various London newspapers. Ethically produced, the T-Shirt will feature your name and go on sale at the NJAL online store.

TIMINGS:
Start date of the competition is 10th August and you must have submitted your entry by 16th August – giving you a whole week to work on your design.
