LENKA PADYSAKOVA

...designing to the sound of Chopin

From an early age, Lenka Padysakova always stood by her vision with a passion for art, classical music, fashion, film and theatre. 12 years of being taught to play the piano by the most elegant gentleman in the world brought her to the world of beauty, charm and classic elegance. She was only 16 and already creating dresses that were presented at International hairstyle competitions in Las Vegas as well as on many TV programmes in Slovakia. Lenka’s drawing, designing, pattern making, sewing and overall styling helped start her career straight from school. She was immediately offered a job as a main designer for fur and leather at the established German-Canadian company Karl Kratochwil in Berlin. After a year she decided to move to London. This step changed her life. London gave her everything she was looking for and helped refine her style. Lenka Padysakova graduated from London College of Fashion in 2008. With the degree in fashion design, this hard working and focused fashion designer, stylist, costume designer and pianist launched her own brand.

The sound of Chopin’s preludes is the way Lenka wants her designs to feel. The sound of how each clean tone under the fingers of her piano tutor was, expresses the quality of her clothes – no dropped stitches, but instead perfect, and exuding a high level haute couture.

Lenka’s collections transport period sophistication to the 21st century with the use of contemporary colours. Elegance, femininity, glamour and individuality are the key words of Lenka Padysakova’s brand. Each outfit of her collections is designed to place the reins of femininity and individuality into the hands of the wearer. Lenka’s outfits are designed for the woman who is not afraid to show her gentle side, safe in the knowledge of her own strength and confidence.

Nothing inspires me like…
Creative individuals who know what they want from their lives, enormously beautiful ladies and gentlemen from 1920s to1950s films.

I hope…
That I will successfully fulfil all my dreams in life and that people will like my creations as much as I like creating them.

Cultural influences…
Play a big part in my work. Humans and all their secrets, lifestyles, ideas…it is all very fascinating.

I got where I am...
By working very hard, but with love and passion for what I do.

Fashion can sometimes...
Be misunderstood.

I scream when…
I see a spider anywhere near me.

Cake makes me…
Feel very guilty. As every health consultant says, it is bad for you. But on the other hand, while indulging myself with lovely cake from my mum, it means a special time because it's something you shouldn’t eat but you love it nevertheless! Especially my mum’s cakes!

Creativity comes from…
Deep inside you. You have to let it go.

My dreams are…
What keeps me going, what’s giving me the energy.

My future…
Depends on me, my abilities to make all my plans happen.

Pain comes from…
Expectations.

I live East…
Because I feel more relaxed and free here.

I'm a perfectionist…
Which sometimes makes things very complicated.

My mum...
always told me that I was living in a constant dream.

I don't think...
I will ever live a boring life. I don’t know what "bored" means. This word is not in my dictionary.

Incompetence...
Can be camouflaged by ingenuity.
