Hartmann Nordenholz is a German-Austrian fashion label founded in winter 2000 by Filip Fiska and Agnes Schorer, named after their grandmothers' maiden names. They met during their studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Austria. Agnes, born in Tübingen, Germany, studied fashion design in the Master's class of Marc Bohan, Helmut Lang and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Filip, born in Vienna, Austria, studied in the Master's class of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Viktor & Rolf and Raf Simons.
“A connection between theory and high craftsmanship is the base of Hartmann Nordenholz. Fashion is a means of personal expression and development. Each of our collections is a moment’s glimpse of our 'diary of reflexions'. Our approach is a critical one, in the sense of questioning different forms of fashion’s appearance in society. The result of our conceptual work has to be a perfect product.”
Visionary elegance combined with architectural precision may be the keywords for each of their collections. They are the winners of the Austrian Fashion Award 2002 for contemporary design. Since then they have regularly presented their collections in Paris.
Nothing inspires me like…
Silence.
I hope…
God is alive.
Cultural influences…
The cultural background, the knowledge of your personal "where from" defines the "where to".
I got where I am…
Where am I?
Fashion can sometimes…
Be your best friend or worst seducer.
I scream when…
We go to Wiener Prater and go for a ride with the chain carousel.
Money makes…
Power – unfortunately.
I dance like…
Sylvie Guillem, if only I could.
My dreams are…
Sometimes weird, but Freud is dead!
I live East…
Of the Vienna woods.
I get bored easily…
Watching television.
My biggest regret…
Non, je ne regrette rien.
