GOD'S PREY

...taking inspiration from the natural world and human cultures

God's Prey is a project by husband and wife team Sean Reveron and Meghan MacRae based in Los Angeles. Speaking to Meghan and Sean, they told us they aim to create both a visual and tactile experience with their garments. “We work creatively with our fabrics, creating garments that feel, wear and look epically awesome. We work locally to source fabrics and produce clothing that is 100% made in Los Angeles, all within a 50 mile radius of our Downtown office.” This way, they aim to support businesses in their community, as well as keeping their carbon footprint low. They take inspiration from both the natural world and human cultures, and create what they think and feel best represents themselves. “Our fashion background is based in real-life experience, as neither of us went to school for fashion. We look at God's Prey as a creative outlet, and a way to make art with clothing. God's Prey is a part of a better future, both economically and environmentally.”

Nothing inspires me like...
Nature and magic... but also the other creative humans that are in my life (Sean). Music, herstory, human and animal spirits (Meghan).

I HOPE...
That my husband and I make clothes together for the rest of our lives. Working together is a beautiful experience, not only because of what we create, but also because of what we learn about each other in the process (Meghan).

Cultural influences...
I grew up around all sorts of music and subcultures... this has had an effect on the way that I view the world... which influences the way I design (Sean). I also grew up in a really multicultural environment, so I try and think about future generations where all our cultures blend together (Meghan).

I got where I am...
By being open to the universe and all it has to offer (Sean)! By trusting in my creativity and by surrounding myself with loving, supportive people (Meghan).

Fashion can sometimes...
Be all-consuming, rewarding, a challenge, wonderful, thought-provoking and fun (Sean).
