NJAL wishes them good luck, as the competition will soon be narrowed from ten to three finalists on 22nd May. Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey will select the final winner during London Fashion Week in September. The winner will receive a two-year development package to set up and sustain their business, with financial support, business advice, mentoring and a fully equipped studio at Somerset House.

NOT JUST A LABEL is excited to have three of our designers in the Semi-Final for this prestigious award. Previous winners include Fyodor Golan, Erdem and Basso & Brooke.

“It has been truly inspiring to review the work of these incredibly bright and creative entrants – each and every one of them with such a strong expression and point of view,” said Christopher Bailey. “The submissions that we have seen today reinforce the amazing talent, energy and creativity that run through the UK and I am so proud to be able to help nurture the next generation of visionaries who will be shaping the world of design in the future.”

Inspired by heritage and culture, Haizhen Wang's collections are designed with a sense of masculinity and individuality with distinguished, tailored jackets and his signature soft pieces with a professional finish. His garments displays the body from different views, from wide and voluminous shapes, through strict and tailor-fitted clothing to flowing and loosely shaped items.

From a childhood that encouraged craft, conversation and imagination, Vita Gottlieb, is one of those unique designers who likes to explore different creative techniques to create her collections. Combined with a considered use of colour, Vita's work is mainly made with natural fibres, and her work is defined by its dynamic graphic style that diffuses a variety of cultures.

With his latest collection storming the catwalk at Vauxhall Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week in February 2012, it is no wonder Raffaele Ascione received Christopher Bailey’s attention. Illustration is a crucial part of Raffaele's working process and he includes these elements in his stunning designs.

Other semi-finalists include Cornel Bolt, Dobrowolski Af Rosenborg, Dejan, Fischer, Miyoko Kamijo, Shu Ting Wang, and Teija

“The selection process was a joyful and stimulating experience, with Christopher's careful and thoughtful approach to the work of each individual contestant well in evidence.” said Fashion Fringe founder and creative director Colin McDowell.
