Veiled Water - A film by Nicola Saint-Marc
Rising from the water and now lost on land she yearns to return to her aquatic utopia amongst the foam. Showcasing designs by Alexandra Groover, “Veiled Water” is a fashion narrative starring a lost selkie (a mythical shape-shifting being that can take human form by shedding its skin) who must return to her home in the sea. Inspired by the legends of Faroese, Gaelic and Icelandic folklore, the film follows the selkie’s fatal demise as she abandons her human life, finally accepting her destiny. Bringing to life a picturesque location with the melancholic portrayal of this heroine’s silent fate, Saint-Marc’s work focuses on capturing intimate portraits.

Symmetric Strategy
Symmetric strategy based on the relationship between computer , hi-tech world and a human being. The collection respond to growing social problem - people became addicted to the internet and a computers replacing reality by virtual life. The collection reflects the conflict between deeply individual and personal human approach and cold, precise computer processes. To find a balance between those contradicted approaches mathematical equations has been created, which generated sequences of variables. Each variable determines the level of deformation of the female figure in two key positions - front and profile. Deformations are symmetrical in one direction (front or profile), giving a new silhouette and shape, while considering the natural feminine shape, which creates a hybrid between man and machine. Sequences of variables are used to generate the sound used as a background soundtrack during the fashion show, divided by 6 parts -- each pattern applies to fashion and sound.

In this collection Individuals reacts with passion and force to today’s society with a raw street wear collection, full of references to the city and to a nomadic lifestyle. DUALS refers to the duel between oneself and the outside world, and to the duality between faith and insecurity. Progress and transience are the fundamentals running through the collection, seeking the answer to the question: “What time could this be?”
