Dinu Bodiciu

While completing his BA in Graphic Design in Romania, Dinu Bodiciu had the chance to attend a course in bookbinding. This was the point when he started to work very closely with fabrics and developed an interest in textiles, which is the driving force behind his designs. Dinu took his experience further with textiles in a collection of women bags launched in 2009. Encouraged by the positive feedback he received for this collection, Dinu decided to pursue a masters in design at London College of Fashion. He graduated in February, 2011 with a collection, inspired by the human posture and its reflection into the mirror. He amplified all the front details of the jacket (shoulders, colors, sleeves), leaving the back-part completely blank. He exaggerated the shapes as to create a flatness effect and play with perception. All the fabrics used, have an 'organic' nature, a bodily quality very close to skin colors. For him, garments are an extension of the body. Having this concept in mind, Dinu always creates designs that play with shapes and volumes, organic textures and visceral colours in order to enhance and modify our perception of the human body. Dinu's designs are an attempt not only to rediscover the human body, but to redefine it.
