Graduating from London College of Fashion over ten years ago, I have worked around the world with a number of well-known fashion designers such as Dai Rees, Ksubi and Kirrily Johnston. Influenced by innovative elegance and organic design, my "Woodland Seas" collection of handbags and millinery for A/W 09 embodies the intricacies of the beauty found on both land and sea. Hand-drawn illustrations are etched and laser-cut into grains of richly stained woods, while vibrant coloured Paua shell permeates through. Alongside such intricate details stand textured leathers in a palette of winter colours. Intricate weaving techniques using dragon scale leather create a playful touch of escapism, as origami pleating accentuates the subtle curves of detail in a chic and effortless way. Made in Italy by leather craftsmen with a passion for precision and traditional techniques, the collection is made for those that are drawn to the subtle intricacies of well-formed design.

Nothing inspires me like…
Science fiction films, such as Barbarella, Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, The Cell, Flash Gordon, and fantasy, such as The Dark Crystal, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Underworld. Organic design from the 1920s and the natural world plays a large role in influencing my design.

I hope…
That through my business becoming successful, I can contribute to animal conservation and eco-tourism in Third World countries.

Cultural influences…
Include age-old techniques from Japanese tradition.

I got where I am...
Through hard work, determination to succeed and to never compromise on my vision and principles of design. As well as the support from my fiancé and business partner who I share the same dreams and visions for our life.

Be superficial and pretentious and make people lose sight of what is really important in life. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you wear, but why you wear it.
