Bryce Aime

...finding inspiration in art, architecture and philosophy

Born in France, Bryce d’Anice Aime came to London in 1998 and cultivated his talent at Central Saint Martins where he graduated with a BA Honours in 2005. Designer d’Anice launched his eponymous label the following year, presenting a highly successful debut collection for Spring/Summer 2007. D’Anice Aime’s central inspiration is taken from the arts, architecture and philosophy. His designs reflect an intriguing mix of form, function and finish, providing an ongoing foundation for each collection. His clothes are created for the woman who recognises the understated appeal of luxurious fabrics, elegant cut and precise finish to create a distinct yet quiet drama within her wardrobe. The opening of Bryce d’Anice Aime's first shop in Walton Street (Chelsea, London) at the beginning of November 2009 also marks a new phase for the label, creating a new space for the presentation of the Bryce d’Anice Aime label, in a modern, sharp, and detailed store. In connection with Aime’s silhouette and style, the colour palette of blacks, greys, whites, skin tones will provide the perfect platform to present their vibrant yet stylish collections.

Nothing inspires me like...
Fetish gears, modern architecture and mixing material.

I hope...
I will carry on finding inspiration and aspiration in and out fashion.

Cultural influences...
Me...but not so much in my designs... in fact cultural influences in myself, personally.

I got where I am...
By making sure to enjoy...more important is to look for what you like and make the most of it.

Fashion can sometimes...
Be unfair, vain, controlled, serious, personal, mean, but ignore those facts because fashion is after all another great world.

Money makes...
You happy and possibly fat... but certainly a good shopper!

Love now because...
Life is too short and too stupid. Love should be the answer for everything.

Faith in...
You and the people that count for you.

Cake makes me...
Happy and fat, so I stay away from them. I can’t afford to ditch my shirt.

My future is...
Controlled by luck and work... and technically I need to be in good health.

There's a new...
Place where religion and violence don’t exist. It is an island where people work and love their life... it is sunny all year round... with a minimum level of tourists, good education, good food, affordable living, amazing shops... this place is in my dreams.

I get bored easily...
After a collection, after a presentation or show, when there is no more stress or deadlines... that’s what I love about fashion... its a cycle against emptiness.

I love getting older...
Because I like to believe I am getting wiser.

Cultural influences…
Always Tokyo… it is crazy.
