Asia Wysoczynska

...exploring the vast space of beauty

Asia Wysoczynska is about to start her last year at the International Costume and Fashion Design School in Warsaw. She also studied Psychology of Creativity and Art, which gave her a deeper understanding of fashion design. Her aim is to design clothes that means something to the people who wear them. It's all about emotions in the end, isn’t it?

What does she have to say about herself? "What is my goal? Exploring the vast space of beauty! To become a real explorer of new ways to express beauty followed by the constant self-development, as it is a necessary ingredient of the creative process. I want to stay open and help people wearing my creations to be open as well, so they can express themselves, feel and look beautiful. I love to play and uncover the beauty of the fabric by manipulating it through cut and volume. The richness of fabrics and simplicity of design lead to unexpected contrasts.

I want to create innovative designs that allow the wearer to stand out; in a subtle, yet distinctive way. The clothes I design are a bit emotional. They are not just pieces of fabric cut and sewn together, but the objects cherished by their owners. For me, this is the essence of fashion and style."

Nothing inspires me like…
Shapes, surfaces, movement, random images and ideas. These can be found just across the street, in different countries or continents. I like things to be both poetic and dynamic. I'm looking for contradictions and trying to combine them.

I hope…
To do what I’m passionate about. And I hope my brand will find a good and nice place to live forever.

Cultural influences…
Encourage me to re-define the definition of fashion over and over again, open up new ways of looking at it.

I got where I am...
By taking turns here and there… trying different things... collecting experiences, moods and feelings along the way. It has shaped me and given me a wider, more diverse background for what I do now and will be doing in the future. I’m still on my way.

Fashion can sometimes...
Be very powerful! …and always is a source of joy.

I sense…
Always intensively and I love that about myself!

My dreams are…
Vivid and surreal. I love all the craziness connected to dreams, they might be very helpful when it comes to organising thoughts and finding new ideas though.

Love now because…
It’s the best you may have. The time of action!

I dance like…
Anyone else! ...as my soul plays... Dancing is deeply personal… as is fashion!

Faith in…
Beauty makes my efforts relevant and significant.

Creativity comes from…
Contradictions and openness.

Money makes…
Your dreams and plans easier to come true.

I'm a perfectionist…
Fortunately! I love when the pieces I design are perfectly cut and finished. Even the smallest details count. The way I get there may seem quite chaotic though.

I love getting older...
Because I feel younger and younger with every year I live. The attitude – that’s essential!

My future is…
Bright! Shining lovely, nicely sculptured.
