Ascione

...grief is the price that you pay for love

“My collection traveled and developed into to a very interesting process, I felt like it was more about intuitive experiments and errors that became the right thing. I stepped out of my comfort zone and that was the most exciting aspect about the whole thing. In the end I created something completely new to me but still kept qualities that spoke the Ascione language.”

Nothing inspires me like…
Strong women like my Mother, and things from my youth in the 90’s such as Beverly Hills 90210 and the whole hip hop movement.

I hope…
That one day I can look back and be proud of all the work I have accomplished.

Cultural influence…
Is a big part of me. Pop Culture hugely inspires me and I can honestly say that I love Britney Spears, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. The music culture is what keeps me going. I suppose its because I have a background in dance.

I got where I am…
By working my butt off. Nothing is easy, but by keeping your goals in mind and being surrounded by great support from family and amazing Friends, everything is possible.

Fashion can sometimes…
Be overrated. I mean, at the end of the day, we make beautiful clothes and that’s it. We are no brain surgeons, so I think it’s crucial to put things into perspective.

I scream when…
I see the couture shows by Givenchy every season as I think Riccardo Tisci is a genius. And I get loud when a Britney Spears Album comes out.

I dance like…
I am in a Britney Spears Video. I like getting lost when I Dance.

Creativity comes from…
Something very natural. You can’t force it. I get great ideas when I least think about.

Grief is…
“The price that you pay for love.” -Queen Elizabeth 2nd

Studios make me…
Very excited. It’s a place where a lot of great work happens.

I am a perfectionist…
Because I grew up in Germany and I have Italian parents who always taught me to do things either all the way or not bother at all.

I am an emotional retard…
When it comes to drama series such as Greys Anatomy.

The earliest memory…
Of wanting to become a Fashion Designer was when my Dad showed me a recorded videotape of Gianni Versace’s Fashion show in 1989.

My Mum…
Is the essence of my life. She is my biggest inspiration. I would have never been able to do things without her support and knowledge she passes on to me in important situations.

I love getting older… because I get happier with my life.
