DISCIPLINE

DiSCiPLiNE SS2010 collection is inspired by THE BLACK AND WHITE DANCE PARTY held byTruman Capote in NYC, at Plaza Hotel, on November 28th 1966. The writer gave this gala to self-promote his successful book In Cold Blood. Lots of the most stylish personalities were among the guests that night: Marella Agnelli, Jimmy Brown, Kim Novak, Tony Curtis, Pat Brown, Ed Sullivan, Pierre Salinger, Lynn Redgrave and Casey Stengel. It was oh! so full of grace and discipline, of course, because there was a very exact dress code: black and white clothings. T-Dress and a T-Shirt, are both patterned by DiSCiPLiNE featuring illustrator Sandra Chi for . Sandra Chi born in California of South-Korean decent, and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her work is highly influenced by her trilingual background. Her visual language is a contemporary translation of European influences on traditional Southeast Asian decorative art. Growing up in Indonesia contributed to Chi’s avid interest in the country’s decorative elements, which became an integral part of her own visual language. Sandra Chi explores myriad styles across multiple mediums. http://sandrachi.blogspot.com
