DEBORAHMURDOCH
About the Designer
Deborah is based in Glasgow, United Kingdom. She studied at Glasgow School of Art and graduated in 2011. Her collections are produced in United Kingdom.
The inspiration for Deborah’s jewellery comes from a blend of influences ranging from Ethnic cultures, art nouveau meets art deco to found objects. The artistic freedom allowed by those wide ranging influences has imparted a unique, contemporary style to Deborah’s work that has won her the Goldsmiths Precious Award, Walsh Designer of Excellence and the Arts Trust of Scotland.
Deborah studied Jewellery and Silversmith for three years at Cardonald College Glasgow, then went onto the prestigious Glasgow School of Art in Jewellery Design and Silversmith. This was followed by training within Hamilton and Inches Silversmith and Jewellery workshop in Edinburgh, these disciplines have imparted to her a level of professional skills that can be clearly observed in her unique distinctive work.
Each jewellery piece is skillfully manufactured with poignant narratives that are vibrantly and seamlessly interwoven within and throughout each exquisite piece. Her work and vision has created a timeless range that tastefully whispers of the past while embracing the future of contemporary jewellery.
Deborah Murdoch designs and manufactures from her studio at the Merchant City in Glasgow.
