CYCHOI
Connotation and Denotation is the terms of Logic.
But these words have been used differently in the various fields.
In the field of find arts, connotation has differently interpreted by regarding to dissimilar condition and situation, while denotation shows general idea. To communicate one another, we need denotation, a common notion by the rules.
The most fundamental comprehension is necessitated it, yet it is not enough to be completed.
Above the first notion of denotation, we should grasp other meanings under the defferent conditions and situations.
This is intentional logic which directs connotative implication. The moment you name it for a subject, it has no more possibility and cannot be an infinitive truth.
===『道德經』第一章 “道可道 非常道 名可名 非常名. ......”
"The infinity that can be conceived is not the everlasting infinity. The infinity that can be described is not the perpetual infinity." .
It would have a same interpretation of the relationship between Connotation and Denotation. As long as we are restricted by a first notion, we never chance to read other possibilities.

About the Designer
Chul Yong is based in Seoul. He studied at Domus Academy, Milan, Italy.
Chul-Yong CHOI, was born in 1972. He started to study fine art and fashion design at the Hongik University in Seoul and continued fashion design at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. Right after his graduation, he had lived in Milan, and worked as a fashion designer and art director both in Italy and Korea. He launched his namesake brand, CY CHOI for menswear in Paris, 2009. In the CY CHOI, it is melted his values that agonizes the possibility of transformation between art and design and seeks after visualizing the invisibleness with his own mimesis from the past.
