FASHION DESIGN & TEXTILE DYEING INTERN

Shabd is an independent design label specializing in unique high end clothing with attention to detail and handwork. It's a very hands-on studio, most of the design and samplemaking is done in house, including all of the hand-dyeing of fabrics to be used in collections.

We are looking for a motivated and hard-working person to work closely with the designer on all aspects of running a label from design and research to press and sales.

Responsibilities may include (based on your experience and interests):
-Design and fabric research
-Pattern and design work
-Light production (machine or hand sewing)
-Hand-dyeing (tie-dye, Shibori and other techniques)
-Additional duties include work on organizational elements of the company, computer work (Adobe and Office) and the opportunity to learn about press and sales of an independent line.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to work at least 2 days a week, but hours and days are flexible.
