Ikuko is based in London, United Kingdom. She studied at Bunka Fashion College, Tokyo. Her collections are produced in United Kingdom.

IKUKO KATO is the creator of “COCO KATO” jewellery.
Since 2001, Ikuko has been based in London and traveling all over the world. These cross-cultural heritages as well as nature’s creations have been major influences on her designs.
Her experimental nature leads her to break away from traditional structures to create COCO KATO jewellery that is innovative and startling.
“COCO KATO” designs are always exciting and ambitious, yet gentle and timeless.
That her designs manage to achieve such originality is due in part to Ikuko’s background in fashion. Named ‘Designer of the Year’ by the prestigious Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, her career was nurtured at Tokyo’s renowned ISSEY MIYAKE fashion house, and this has had a big impact on her designs. Ikuko has an increased sensitivity to materials and design as well as balance and harmony, and enjoys a certain freedom from jewellery conventions.
