Cassandra used Intricate beaded techniques, clear elasticated and fluffy voluminous knit replicating water and movement, this entire collection is a texture overload, designed to inspire the senses. Bagging up her pet goldfish, who usually live a quiet life in her kitchen, Cassandra showcased her aquatic friends on the runway this season, swimming inside a perspex backpack.

About the Designer

Cassandra Verity is based in London, United Kingdom. She studied at Central Saint Martins and graduated in 2013. Her collections are produced in United Kingdom.

The Central Saint Martins Knitwear graduate Cassandra Verity Green, renowned for her outlandish use of her pet goldfish, has captured the attention of Dazed, i-D, MTV and Lady Gaga with her debut collection 'Neptune's Daughter' as well as winning her the opportunity to have her collection showcased in Grazia and Liberty for 'FashFactor'. Prior to launching her own brand, Cassandra has worked with Nasir Mazhar as well as working with key London based knitwear labels, Craig Lawrence & Leutton Postle.
The inspiration for Cassandra's first collection is found solely from her grandmother, a fifties beauty queen and style icon who bared a strong influence on the aquatic theme. The collections name derives from the film 'Neptune's Daughter' with the underwater scenes, beautiful sets and mystical smoke, combined with elements of 1950s swimwear such as textured rubber swimming caps - a clear focal point in the CVG London brand.
Using very intricate labour intensive techniques along with unconventional materials, such as transparent knit and crystal spiked beading, give the wearer a luxurious but fun experience. By using a domestic knitting machine, Cassandra shows the utmost passion and patience she has for her work, whilst being able to give her final pieces more volume and texture than through alternative knitting processes. Cassandra strongly believes that fashion is an "experience" that the wearer should have with the clothes and therefore should not be taken too seriously.
Everything from the cut to the colour of the design is unique, not just to her brand CVG but to the consumer. Her inspirations stem from experiences, emotions and memories, converting her childlike and playfully refreshing brand into something of a luxury must have.
Cassandra is working on an accessories line to be launched in 2014 & working is currently working a capsule collection in Shanghai to be showcased at Spin Expo March 14.
