Artifacts is celebration of form. Jewelry provided the ideal medium for designer C.Perez to express her design sensibilities and approach to process. Creating a dialectic with her environment, Perez unearths the elegant lines and forms intrinsic to the sights and objects around her. In this act of discovery, the craftsperson becomes both facilitator and witness to the creation of each Artifact. The results are unique handcrafted pieces that are at once cerebral explorations of form and intimate expressions.

WHEN CASEY PEREZ BEGAN DESIGNING “FIGMENT,” she returned to an old childhood habit: compulsory, obsessive mark making on paper. Filling up pages with gestural arabesques, the hand explores line and curvature as the simplest form of capturing kinesthetic expression.
This exploration finds its roots in Modernist inquiry, from Calder’s dimensional wire mobiles to Sophie Tauber’s “Ligne” series. “Figment” playfully imagines jewelry as a cascade of rhythmic forms and an extension of the body in motion.
