For Spring/Summer 2013 Âme Sœur created digitally printed fabrics which are inspired by collage art and highlight the architectural volume of the garment. High quality materials such as silk, linen and leather each add their own character to the collection.

Âme Sœur and its “One-Cut-Piece”-Concept
Âme Sœur was founded in 2008 in Berlin by sisters, Sabina and Madina Taschén. While Sabina got her diploma in modelling and styling at Esmod Berlin, Madina graduated in Business Administration, making them an ideal team to create and develop a fashion label. Their vision is to work with the creative and inspiring techniques of Haute Couture while still creating affordable and wearable pieces. With this goal in mind, the sisters developed the “One-Cut- Piece” Concept.
“One-Cut-Piece” is an expression used in film-making, describing a video which is filmed without a single cut. , Âme Sœur uses this expression to illustrate that each dress is made out of one single piece of fabric and modelled “par moulage”. Moulage, a Haute Couture technique, consists of the three-dimensional creation of a design or pattern on a tailor’s dummy, allowing for greater creativity and movement. With precisely placed stitches, Âme Sœur creates pieces with structured architectural forms and unique volume.
While starting out as just an experiment, it quickly became apparent that this method put aside common design guidelines and allowed for being creative in a whole new and modern way. Contrary to common pattern construction methods, the “One-Cut Concept” creates its own construction rules. Making clothes from just one piece of fabric fundamentally changes the aesthetics of the garment and generates new shapes and ideas. For pattern construction and production, Âme Sœur has created a new visual language, which allows for the folds and movement of the garment to be highlighted. All the designs are created and produced in Germany..
Âme Sœur develops its own prints which form a perfect connection with the “One-Cut- Piece” Concept.
