ABIGAIL_WESTRUP

My graduate collection, is inspired by the quintecentially British Wedgwood. The colour palatte, and textile techniques all stem from this. Construction is an important aspect of design to me so I have been inspired by the intricate workings of 1940's lingerie.

Abigail is based in London/Bristol, United Kingdom. She studied at De Montfort. Her collections are produced in United Kingdom.

My final collection was showcased at graduate fashion week 2010. Since graduating from De Montfort I have had my work styled in numerous photoshoots for magazines. In all of my design work I pay attention to detail. Construction is a very important aspect of design to me as I believe that well constructed garments manufactured from the finest quality fabrics creates investment pieces which you will want to treasure forever. I take construction inspiration from vintage lingerie, such as panelling and zig-zag stitching, making every seam a design feature. Embellishment plays a major part in my designing as I feel it creates further interest in a fabric and catches peoples eyes. I only use the finest quality embellishments, such as swarovski crystals and Wedgwood clay beads to create real statement pieces. All of my final collection pieces are avaliable for purchase.
