The overarching theme which resonates throughout the line is the fusion between the 11.11 visual vocabulary and traditional craft methods, specifically from Kutchchh, Gujarat (India). In the late hours of this endless dawn, we found a point of departure inspired by the dwellers of this land and the spirit embodied in their craft, handed down through generations; dating back hundreds of years. Informed by this ancient energy and with the simple resources of their land, they produce works which capture the essence of their environment and heritage. As we traced and combined these different techniques and crafts a new language emerged, launching us into unchartered territory. Here we explored the regional textile traditions of Jamdani and Bandhani, fusing them with the abstract printing & dyeing technique of marbling on silks and khadi, refining the rhythm of the collection to a contemporary tone.

Himanshu is based in New Delhi, India. He studied at Domus Academy and graduated in 2003. His collections are produced in India.

The coming together of two designers; Shani Himanshu and Smita Singh Rahtore formed 11.11 by CellDSGN in 2005. With their diverse experience in fashion, and design combined with enthusiasm to collaborate with other designers, artists and architects, they built a studio, which is a powerhouse of creativity, innovation and experimentation.
This studio, which is located on the shores of a hidden lake, quickly became the heartbeat for the revival of a bohemian artists village in Central Delhi. Hauz Khas Village and The 11.11 brand are both built on the hybrid understanding of the power of the collective, synergized with the unique perspective of the individual.
11.11 celebrates a forgotten heritage which expresses a distinctive and definitive style of fashion. The collection has voluminous, flowing drapes juxtaposed with structural, androgynous detailing that accentuates the feminine form; showcasing clothes, exquisitely handcrafted to highlight a timeless, everlasting quality.
